Indien kommer till Wanås i Skåne - Konstutställning
Mellan den 20 maj och 28 oktober 2012 kommer Indien till Wanås i Skåne. Då är det nämligen dags för den indiska konstnären Srinivasa Prasad från Bangalore att ställa ut. Utställningen är utomhus och sker på en grön gräsmatta.
Inne i Wannå Konst öppnas även ett helt nytt rum för film och videokonst. I rummet kommer det visas ett indiskt filmprogram, ”But apit stop on a long journey”, av de indiska filmkonstnärerna - Neha Choksi, Rohini Devasher, Shilpa Gupta and AsimWaqif.

Planning an outing or a trip to Skåne and looking for a dose of India, well in that case Wanås is the place to go!
The Indian artist Srinivasa Prasad from Bangalore is this year’s international artist at the Wanås Foundation. From May 20 – October 28, 2012 his new site-specific outdoor installation will be on viewat Wanås Konst.
On the green lawn at Wanås, a stretch of tall willows was recently planted, a 40-meter coiling line that would measure 500 metres if it were straight. The saplings are planted in the form of a labyrinth to form Srinivasa Prasad the artist's signature written in Kannada, the provincial language of his Karnatakastate in India.
Wanås Konst also opens the season with an entirely new room dedicated to film and video art. In the film program ”But apit stop on a long journey”, loaded and imaginary landscapes pass by in filmsby Indian based artists - Neha Choksi, Rohini Devasher, Shilpa Gupta and AsimWaqif.
Wanås Konst is run by the Wanås Foundation,a non-profit art foundation located on an estate consisting of a medievalcastle, an organic farm, and a sculpture park. Marika Wachtmeister initiatedthe exhibitions at Wanås in 1987 and is the Founder of the Wanås Foundation.The sculpture park holds a constantly growing number of permanent works by internationally renowned contemporary artists such as Yoko Ono, Marina Abramovic', Roxy Paine and Antony Gormely. The focus is on sculpture and installations made by the artists specifically for the Wanås Foundation.
