Enligt vissa artiklar jag last i indisk dagspress verkar det vara protester pa gang i Goa. Ar det nagon i Goa nu som marker av nagot, hort nagot eller har nagon mer information om laget?
Protesterna galler speciella ekonomiska zoner (SEZ) som dom tror kan leda till stor inflyttning av utomstatlig arbetskraft och som kan forstora den Goanska ekonomin, traditionerna och idyllen etc.
Indiens premiarminister reste till Goa igar for att inviga ett stort datornatverk och forsokte samtidigt lugna SEZ-motstandarna. Idag hittar jag dock inte mycket i tidningarna angaende detta.

Tourists can now have a ball in Goa

Anti-SEZ forces decide to lie low till Jan 2
PANJIM, DEC 29 — Tourists rushing to Goa for New Year celebrations can now heave a sigh of relief. The BJP and Goa’s Movement Against SEZs’ (GMAS) after assurance from Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Saturday, have decided to lie low till January 2, 2008, when government would take a clear cut stand on issue of SEZs.
GMAS Convener Mathany Saldanha told Herald that the chief minister has assured them that he would make his stand clear on January 2.
Future course of action would be decided on January 3, 2008 in the event government fails to keep upto his word, he said.
Not satisfied with government’s earlier stand, GMAS had appealed tourists to return to their States lest they may be affected by their agitation against SEZs which they had planned to intensify after December 28.
The call by GMAS apparently caused panic among tourists who had made plans to come to Goa to ring in the New Year.
The State government taking precautionary action requisitioned three companies of CRPF in Goa and also lodged a police complaint against Saldanha.
Making matters worse, though BJP declared they would fully back Saldanha if government arrested him — it retracted from its stand the same day announcing they have put on hold all their programmes against SEZs till January 1, 2008.
On the other hand Saldnaha came under heavy fire from Congressmen who labeled him “anti-Goan” while BJP decided to play it safe sensing that its image would take a beating if it went ahead with the anti-SEZ agitation and scared off the tourists.
Meanwhile, as invited, Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar, and representatives of other NGOs met the chief minister and had discussions on their demand for scrapping of all SEZs in Goa on Saturday.
