CANACONA, JAN 4
A motorcylist sustained minor injuries after he fell off his motorcycle while averting a menacingly jumping leopard that luckily missed the man at Karmalghat on Saturday at about 9.30 pm.
The incident occurred while the motorcyclist was proceeding from Margao to Canacona. The leopard soon ran away on Karmalghat section.
Even though the identity of the motorcyclist could not be ascertained, Canacona Range Forest Officer (wildlife) Paresh Parab when contacted confirmed the incident involving a leopard.
However, Parab informed that the leopard might have got disturbed by the vehicles along the Karmalghat road. “The motorcyclist on seeing the most-feared animal might have got jolted out of fear and fell off,” said Parab.
Soon a jeep behind the motorcyclist saw the fallen man and took him to a hospital for first aid.
